Loudoun Chapter Sponsors Signature AdThe VSHL Loudoun County Chapter sponsored their first successful signature advertisement for release at the time of the March for Life. The ad was published in two newspapers, Leesburg Today and the Loudoun Easterner. Almost 500 names were printed in the ad. A signature ad is a great way to show the magnitude of pro-life support in the community, to draw attention to VSHL chapter activities, and to attract new potential members and donors. Its use is not limited to January 22. For example, other chapters may want to consider a signature ad for Mother’s Day. An electronic form for an ad is available from the National Right to Life Organizational Development Department (202-626-8800). The Loudoun chapter paid for the ad by collecting contributions from those who signed the ad. In order not to discourage anyone from signing, just a minimum contribution of $1.00 was requested, with higher amounts gratefully accepted. This worked well and generated sufficient funds. Using local community newspapers keeps the cost down. Including a coupon at the bottom of the ad encourages uninvolved pro-lifers to get involved with the chapter, or at least contribute funds for future pro-life projects.
