Virginia’s 7th District Congressman, Thomas J. Bliley, Jr., is stepping down after 20 years in the House of Representatives.

Congressman Bliley has been a champion of pro-life legislation both as congressman and as Chairman for the past six years of the powerful House Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over medical research programs. He has also been the originator of important pro-adoption bills.

VSHL is deeply grateful to Chairman Bliley for his staunch support for the pro-life cause throughout his congressional career and for the model he is to those who will follow him on Capitol Hill.
