Cal Thomas Rouses Crowd at NRLC BanquetColumnist and television political commentator Cal Thomas, a Virginia resident, delivered a stirring speech at the closing banquet of the National Right to Life convention June 29 in Pittsburgh. He titled his talk “Bringing a Very Good Thing to Life” and began by showing General Electric’s television commercial for its new 4D ultrasound equipment. The ad, showing the active unborn baby and the joy-filled reaction of the expectant parents seeing their child for the first time, was incredibly beautifully and powerful, especially when projected onto the huge screen. (See also ultrasound article.) Cal Thomas spoke of the “little things” pro-life people do to change a culture of death into a culture of life. He described the tremendous difference crisis pregnancy centers have made over the years and recognized NRLC as being at the forefront of the pro-life movement in education and legislative accomplishments. Geline Williams, Virginia’s representative on the NRLC board, presided as MC at the banquet. She has chaired the NRLC Board of Directors for more than two decades.
