Reaching Hearts and Minds in Hampton Roads

“I’m so glad you’re here!”
“Do you go to schools? I’m a vice principal and I’d like the students in my school to see those fetal models.”
“I’m an MD and a longtime supporter of NRLC.”
“Do you see my grandson here? He was born at 27 weeks on Mother’s Day, just one week older than that 26-week model. Look at him now! I’m a labor and delivery nurse.”
“Does a 12 week unborn baby really look like that? I mean all the body parts and everything?”
“I didn’t know Planned Parenthood did abortions. I always thought they helped pregnant women.”
These are just a few of the comments made by visitors to the Virginia Society for Human Life educational booth at the Chesapeake Jubilee in Chesapeake, VA May 16 through 18. At the booth, VSHL distributed Pro-Life literature and models of the Young One 12-week-old unborn child, answered questions, and provided an opportunity for citizens to sign the National Right to Life petition asking congress to ban the cloning of human embryos.
As usual, the fetal models received the most attention from the most people. They were picked up and cradled in the arms of men, women, and children. Some returned for a second look, children with parents in tow and parents with children in tow. One young girl about 11 years old proclaimed while holding a model, “It’s not right to take a baby’s life. It’s not right to take anyone’s life.”
