VSHL PAC Endorses Bush, Recommends AllenThe Virginia Society for Human Life Political Action Committee has endorsed the Republican Bush-Cheney ticket for election to lead the United States for the next four years. "Both George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have taken strong and consistent pro-life positions in elected office as governor and congressman respectively," said Larry Stine, VSHL PAC Director. "They deserve our support." "Vice President Al Gore would continue the very strong pro-abortion direction taken by the Clinton-Gore administration," he continued. "Al Gore has pledged to only appoint Supreme Court judges that support unrestricted legalized abortion on demand which will cost tens of millions of unborn babies’ lives for decades to come. Instead, George W. Bush will reverse this trend and give us the opportunity to save lives." In the close race for the United States Senate in Virginia, "the VSHL PAC strongly recommends the election of George Allen," said Mr. Stine. In his twelve years in the United States Senate, Senator Chuck Robb has compiled a 100% pro-abortion voting record, even to the extent of voting against the ban on the horrendous partial-birth abortion procedure. George Allen, on the other hand, was very favorable to pro-life initiatives during his term as governor and compiled overall a significant pro-life record during his time as governor, congressman and member of the Virginia House of Delegates. "George Allen would be a huge improvement over our current Senator," the PAC Director said. He continued, "The national importance of this race can be easily seen by the vote in June on banning abortion on military bases. We preserved the ban but on a 50-49 vote. We’ve got to improve that pro-life margin. We in Virginia have a real opportunity to do that this year by electing George Allen." A comparison of the Senate candidates’ records is in the Allen-Robb Abortion Record.
