PAC Endorses Ruff for 15th State Senate SeatIn addition to the candidates for federal office, residents of Virginia’s 15th State Senatorial District will be voting for a state senator to replace Democratic Senator Richard J. Holland who died in April. Since his election in 1979, Sen. Holland’s mostly pro-life voting record has been helpful in passing laws requiring parental notification and banning partial-birth abortions. "The election of Frank Ruff to this seat will continue a record of pro-life voting," said VSHL PAC Director Larry Stine. "VSHL PAC endorses Frank Ruff since his strong pro-life position as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates will be even more valuable as a State Senator." Mr. Stine went on to explain: "Votes on pro-life issues in the Virginia Senate are always close. It is therefore extremely important for us to retain this as a pro-life seat if we are to be successful in passing pro-life legislation and in defeating pro-abortion initiatives." The 15th State Senate District comprises the counties of Appomattox, Charlotte, Lunenburg, Nottoway, Prince Edward, and Sussex, portions of Dinwiddie, Greenville, Isle of Wight, Mecklenburg, Prince George and Southampton counties, and portions of the cities of Emporia, Franklin and Suffolk.
