Virginia Gains Another Pro-Life Vote in House

State Senator J. Randy Forbes won the special election on June 19 for the 4th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, having received 52% of the vote. Mr. Forbes had a solid pro-life voting record in the Virginia General Assembly, starting as a Delegate in 1990 and later as a State Senator since 1997. His candidacy was endorsed by the VSHL Political Action Committee.

His opponent, State Senator Louise Lucas, received strong support from pro-abortion organizations. She was endorsed by Emily’s List, a PAC that only endorses Democratic women candidates who support unrestricted abortion on demand.

In Congress, Mr. Forbes replaces the late Norman Sisisky who had a strong pro-abortion voting record.

Over the past year, Virginia voters have elected four new House members, all of them pro-life and all endorsed by the VSHL PAC. In two of these cases, in the 2nd and 4th Districts, they have turned pro-abortion seats into pro-life seats.
