Voting Record for General Assembly Race

In addition to the election of our representatives in Washington, there are two special elections for members of the Virginia General Assembly .

Jay O’Brien, running for the 39th district seat in the Virginia State Senate, has been in the House of Delegates since 1992. Over this period, he has compiled a 100% pro-life voting record. Whether the issue was banning partial-birth abortion, parental notification or consent before a minor’s abortion, informed consent for women prior to an abortion, abortion clinic licensing, feticide, assisted suicide, or a conscience clause for medical professionals, Jay O’Brien has always voted to uphold the sanctity and dignity of every human life. (For details of specific votes, see the Lifesaver issues of October, 2001 and April, 2002.)

The other candidates running in the special elections have no prior voting record.
