Forbes, McDonnell Honored by Tidewater Chapter

On Tuesday, April 24th, the Tidewater Chapter held a special reception honoring both Delegate Bob McDonnell and State Senator Randy Forbes for their successful efforts to pass the Woman’s Right to Know (Informed Consent) Bill in both houses of the 2001 General Assembly. Approximately forty people attended the event at the newly-built Philippine Cultural Center in Virginia Beach. Also attending were VSHL President Louise Hartz and VSHL Vice President and State Legislation Director Fiona Givens. Mrs. Hartz spoke about the mission and purpose of the VSHL while Mrs. Givens recounted the behind-the-scenes work ensuring successful passage of the bill. Del. McDonnell and Sen. Forbes were presented with specially engraved plaques while Mrs. Givens was presented with a gift basket in appreciation for all of her work in strengthening the presence of the VSHL in Tidewater.
