COME ONE, COME ALL!
VSHL Fall Gatherings Set for Richmond and Winchester

By Geline Williams

Virginia Society for Human Life is branching out. This year, instead of having a state conference, there will be a series of local area meetings around the state. The purpose is to have a close-to-home contact with VSHL members and to broaden pro-life presence and influence in the community. Richmond on October 20, and then Winchester on October 27, will be the sites of the first events in the series.

The program's theme is, "Changing the Culture," and includes presentations at both meetings on "Building a Culture of Life," by Don Parker and on "Healing," by Olivia Gans, both members of the staff of National Right to Life Committee. VSHL is the state affiliate of NRLC.

The Richmond event, which will also be the corporation's annual meeting, will take place on Thursday, October 20, at "Windsor," 4601 Lilac Lane, while the Winchester gathering will meet one week later, on Thursday, October 27, at the Best Western Lee-Jackson, 711 Millwood Avenue. Both events will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with an opening reception during the first hour to be followed by the program from 7:00 to 9:00.

Star celebrities greatly admired by the pro-life movement will take part. Mark Early, former Attorney-General of Virginia and now President of Prison Fellowship Ministry, will be the honored guest at the opening reception in Winchester and will address the gathering. Also at the Winchester event, Father Frank Pavone, founder of Priests for Life and a nationally acclaimed orator on the pro-life issue, will be featured speaker at the session following the reception.

While attendance at the program is free, the charge for the reception is $15.00 per person or $25.00 per couple. Donations in larger denominations will also be happily welcomed. The meetings are open to VSHL members and to interested citizens.

Reservations may be made by mail or telephone. When making reservations by mail, please write on the check the number of guests and the date of the reception to be attended - either October 20 or October 27. Be sure to include your name, address and telephone number. Reservations with checks should be mailed to:
