Invites High School Juniors and Seniors
to enter the Alex and Geline Williams
Pro-Life Oratory Contest
Students are to research, write and deliver a speech five to seven minutes in length about abortion, infanticide, euthanasia or stem cell research from a pro-life perspective.
The State Contest will take place on:

The state winner competes at the Annual National Right to Life Convention

Eligibility
Virginia high school juniors and seniors are eligible to compete. In case of advanced students, non-traditional students, or home schooled students, the school must recognize the student as a junior or senior or the year the student will enter college will be used to determine eligibility.
How to Enter
Complete and submit a contest application form prior to your local chapter/school contest. Note: For those without a local contest within 50 miles of their residence, contact the VSHL State Contest Coordinator, Michele Allen: (703) 743-9708 or arochaallen@gmail.com
VSHL State Contest
Local/school winners will compete in the VSHL State contest on Saturday, May __, 2011 The local/school winner must submit a written copy of his or her speech to the state contest coordinator no later than the Monday prior to the event.
National Contest
The state winner will compete in the national contest in conjunction with the National Right to Life Convention. The state contest winner must be able to attend this event. In addition to the prize money, the state first place winner also receives transportation and accommodations for themselves and one adult family member, to compete in the national contest.
The Virginia Society for Human Life (VSHL) will follow rules for the National Right to Life Oratory Contest (NRLOC) in conjunction with the rules listed on the following page titled “Virginia Society for Human Life (VSHL) Oratory Contest Rules.” Please review the national rules prior to composing a speech.
