VSHL, NRL PACs Endorse Bush

On February 16, 2000, the Virginia Society for Human Life Political Action Committee (VSHL PAC) proudly endorsed George W. Bush for President of the United States.

"George Bush has maintained a strong and consistent pro-life stance both as Governor and throughout the campaign," said Susan Valentine, VSHL PAC Vice Chairman.

In a press release, the PAC noted that Governor Bush supports the repeal of Roe v. Wade in the form of a constitutional amendment to protect the unborn child. He has articulated a policy that would protect the vulnerable in our society – the elderly, people with disabilities, and the unborn child. He has also stated that he would appoint strict constructionists to the Supreme Court.

One week earlier, the National Right to Life PAC also endorsed Governor Bush for President. "We applaud Governor Bush for his courageous and consistent pro-life stand," said David N. O'Steen, Ph.D., NRLC Executive Director, and Carol Tobias, NRL PAC Director, in a statement announcing the endorsement. "We believe that with President George W. Bush in the White House, millions of unborn children will be saved."
